Hotel Villa Il Patriarca offers truffle hunting among the beautiful Tuscan hills of Val d’Orcia at different times of the year, with the opportunity to end the experience with a truffle tasting lunch at La Taverna del Patriarca.
During the day, an expert guide and trained truffle dogs will accompany you in the search for Tuscan truffles, explaining their characteristics, properties, differences between varieties, storage methods, and how to use them in the kitchen. Back at the villa, the tasting lunch at the Taverna allows you to enjoy truffles paired with dishes created to enhance their aroma and flavour.
Each season its truffle:
From 1st January to 30th April
is the period of the “Marzuolo or Bianchetto Truffle”
From June 1st to August 31st
it is the period of the “Scorzone Black Truffle”
From October 1st to December 31st
it is the period of the “White Truffle” of the Crete Senesi
The months of May and September are excluded due to regional provisions.
Participation fees:
Truffle hunting: €109 per person
Tasting lunch at La Taverna del Patriarca (beverages excluded)
- €55 per person for minor truffles
- €70 per person for white truffle
Children pay 50%.

Booking conditions
A 50% prepayment of the total amount is required to confirm the booking; the balance is to be paid on site on the day of the experience.
Free cancellation up to one week before. After this deadline, or in case of no‑show, the deposit will not be refunded.
Payment for the tasting lunch will be made on site at La Taverna del Patriarca restaurant.
